Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Car Insurance Question
Car hit mine. Driver was daughter of registered owner. Daughter claims to have no insurance. Owner claims to not have insurance also. I have owners license plate, VIN number, address, SSN, and alisaes. How can I confirm whether car has insurance or not? Also, who can I sue for damages in this matter (driver, owner or both)?

Re: Car Insurance Question
You can go after the driver and the owner of the car. If they have insurance and are trying to hide it from you, a lawsuit will usually make them come forward. If the driver caused more than $1,000 in damages and there really is no insurance, then you can have the driver's license suspended.
