If a person were to take over payments on a vehicle that is in another persons name and the person who is now making payments gets auto insurance in their name as the covered driver and that vehicle is involved in an accident who would be held liable?

You may have wasted money..but is your question about whether insurance will pay? or what? but in my opinion if there is insurance on the car the insurance company should pay..and "who" is liable has nothing to do with payment
