Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

car wreck

I was completely stopped with my left signal on and an off duty cop hit my car. My car is totaled and I owe $6685 on it still, it is only worth 1685 according to blue book. I have a lumbar strain and a cervical sprain from the accident. How can I negoiate to have the car paid off and still have enough to at least have a down payment on a new car?

You need to speak with an attorney. If you don't have GAP insurance, you will need to negotiate with the lienholder to see if they'll take less. If not, you may be able to recover based on your bodily injury claim. When you do speak with an attorney, make sure you find one that will handle your property damage claim (many will help you with this for free, if they handle your bodily injury claim.)
