Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Fair Compensation in Non-Injury Auto Accident
My son's car was ''totalled''. The guilty party's insurance company will not offer enough to replace it. The car is an old one with high mileage, but we have proven from area auto ads (and NADA) that it costs more than they are offering. They still refuse and offer several hundred dollars less. They refuse to negotiate, and have are actually now offerring even less than originally. Have we any recourse? We doubt if any lawyer is interested in a low dollar case (the car's worth 1800 - 2000. They offer less than 1400.) What can we do?

You can sue in small claims court (Justice of the Peace Court) for up to $5,000.00. I would recommend that you do so.
