Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Homeowner Insurance policy still valid
Our current homeowners insurance policy is due for renewal in less than a month. We are in the middle of a home repair claim from June 2008. Insurance has made partial payment for repairs. Repairs will not be completed by the time the policy must be renewed. They supposedly will pay for the remainder of the claim when all repairs are complete. We are not happy with the current insurane company and do not want to continue coverage with them for another year. We would like to go with another company. If we don't renew with the current company, are they still responsible for our open claim?
