Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

insurance and common law marriage

I live in Texas. My dad was in a

relationship that he never considered

to be a common law marriage, but

the woman he lived with for 12

years put her name on his death

certificate as his wife and signed it.

He has an unclaimed property that

consists of a dual life insurance policy

that he had with my grandmother.

She is also deceased but he never

claimed it. Is the woman he lived

with entitled to this property since

she is on the death certificate or can

myself and two other siblings claim

it? Also, he did not have a will.
