Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Liability issue
My sister's husband's truck was wrapped around a telephone pole. It was not driven by him. There was no insurance on the truck.
Her husband is now in jail and the telephone company is contacting her to get repayment for the pole. She was not near the truck. Her name was not on the loan. She did not even know where her husband or his truck was when it happened. She had not seen or heard from him in 2 months at the time.
Is she liable for the repayment to the telephone company?? What are her options?

Re: Liability issue
Texas is a community property state. As such your sister is 1/2 responsible for the debt. She might try to negotiate for payment of her ONE HALF of the debt. Good Luck.
