My daughter us beneficary to her ex-husbands Army life insurance policy. They have been divorced 5 months and he died last week. Question: Can his family go after this money? Does she need a lawyer? Please advise. Thank you.

Re: Life Insurance Beneficiary
I do not know how Army life insurance policies work. My guess is she should recover the benefit and his family should not. I recommend she make a claim and if the Army refuses to pay, then she should hire a lawyer familiar with military insurance law. Good luck.
