Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

Life Insurance Texas

My ex -husband died and I am still named as beneficiary of the policy. We had paid on the policy for almost 23 years. He became a drug addict and the official cause of death was complications of MRSA sepsis due to intravenous drug abuse. According to our final divorce decree which I obtained by default, he was not entitled to proceeds of my life insurance policy should I pre-decease him but the final divorce decree did not exclude me from entitlement to proceeds from his life insurance if he pre-deceased me. Will the insurance company still pay me since he never changed me as beneficiary?
