Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Long Term Disability Insurance
I have LTD insurance that is still in effect from my last employer. I have a medical condition that has been classified as ''permanent'' that prevents me from working at all due to my vision. My LTD is supposed to pay me approx. $582 per month above & beyond my SSI until I am 65. They have now contacted me and want to give me a lump sum, but it seems too low. I need to know what is reasonable & fair. If I received monthly checks it would be above $94K from now until 65. They want to settle it for about $36K. Please let me know if you think I need representation to negotiate a fair settlement of my claim.

yes...you need representation..call us and we would look at the facts..but you need a person competent to review the policy..etc...with interest rates low, you need much more..and the insurance is guaranteed under Texas law up to $300,000..
