Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
minor fender bender with borrowed vehicle
I am a 15 year veteran auto technician. It is a hobby of mine to help those in need of vehicle repairs for a reduced fee or in certain cases free of charge. Such was the case with the repair of a senior gentleman neighbor of mine. After solving a driveability issue and intermittent electrical power fault I took the '93 Chevrolet C2500 extended cab pick up on a test run. At an obtuse angled intersection of a side street to a major thouroughfair, I have difficulty navigating the sharp turn. I backed up from the stop sign to gain a sharper angle onto the avenue and while rolling back maybe five feet or less I bumped the 2003 Saab 900s behind the truck I was driving. The contact was bumper to bumper; the result being a damaged license plate obscution and a nominal scuff line on the Saab's bumper cover not exeeding 4 inches in length. I presented my insurance to the driver of the Saab. He filed a claim against my policy. My insurance carrier contacted me to inform that they would cover the claim. A week later my carrier has contacted me to inform they are denyimg the claim and base the denial on state (Texas) law prohibiting them from accepting responsibility. I am not able to discover any information about this law via internet.

Not true..but report the insurer to the Texas Department of Insurance..and call your agent to change insurance companies..or is it "good neighbor", "good hands"??
