Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas
Retirement/Pension
I was divorced in 1987, at the time of divorce it was ordered in the decree that I would get 1/2 of his retirement/pension (7 and half years). He passed away on the 23rd of October, I called his employer and they said that I had to have a Quatro(not sure if that is how you spell it) I told them in 1987 it was ordered in the decree and I would assume that the law changed after that. Do they go by today's law or the law in 1987.
Thank You

Re: Retirement/Pension
You can still obtain the QDRO from the Court under current law. It might cost you some money to get an attorney in your area to do this for you or I could probably do it for you from here.
