Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas
We are a church and our band is wanting to make a live cd. We will give the cds for donations only to buy extra band equipment. Do we need to pay music royalties?
Thank you

You don't have to pay royalties as long as you're recording your own music. If you record someone else's music, even if you don't make money off of it, you have to get permission from the person who has the rights to that music.
