Is it illegal to download the digital booklet for free? I bought the CD on itunes but not the right one.

Well, that is really vague - "digital booklet". If the booklet is copyrighted, downloading it without permission for free is probably copyright infringement and thus illegal. So long as you only download, you might escape detection or escape attention, but if you subsequently upload, you can expect to draw fire. Most P2P networks simultaneously upload as they download, so beware.
