Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas
Internet use of copyright material
I have compiled images from the newspaper advertisements for 13 years, now I would like to create a site where people can view and read them.
Is this illegal if I charge money to see these? Do I need a release from the copyright owner? Can I use these if I don't charge money?

Re: Internet use of copyright material
A violation of copyright is using copyrighted material whether you charge for it or not. I'd be more comfortable with releases from the copyright holder in hand. Of course then you can copyright your compilation.
