Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas
I would like to make a DVD for a local team with footage I took and put it to music. Do I need to obtain any rights if it is to be used as a fundraiser by them?

Legally yes, if the music is not yours or the footage is not your or if you are using team images without permission. As a practical matter, unless the fundraiser is pretty big it's uinlikely that anyone would object, and even then you could likely work out a minimal royalty. Still, permission is usually easy and costs negligible, so you should get legal, particularly if a claim of copyright infringement would be detrimental to the team's image, as it generally would.
