Patent Expiration Process ?

Hi,

I was surfing on the web but I could not find any document that described the process whereby a company's patent expires and generic products can be produced. Who decides which company gets to make the product whose patent has now expired?

When a patent expires, and generic products can be produced, consumers get to decide which company gets to make the product by deciding which company's products to buy. One exception is medicine, where the FDA decides (through an approval process) who is permitted to make the medicine.
