I registered a "DBA" for a band name. Can I prevent anyone else from using that name?

As a Franchise Attorney familiar with protecting names, I can give you some advice. A DBA does not protect the band name. To protect it, you need to file a trademark, and also a service mark registration. This can be done at the state or federal level, but a federal registration is much stronger and gives presumptive rights throughout the U.S. Consult with a good trademark or franchise attorney for specific advice.
