Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas
Using a Trademarked product under another Trademark name.
What laws are broken if I purchase a product that already is under a legal Trademark and use it as a Trademark product by another name. If I purchase Tyger Twine and advertise it in my catalog as Brut Lon, what laws and penalities,if any, could be a possibilty?

Re: Using a Trademarked product under another Trademark name.
This depends on whether or not you own the trademark (BRUT LON in your example) you will use. In your example you could buy Tyger Twine and advertise it in you catalog by the name BRUT LON only if you own the trademark BRUT LON. If you do not own either name, you will be committing trademark infringement and unfair competition in violation of the Lahnam Act.
