Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas
Writing a trademark notice
The student newspaper at the University of Houston has registered its masthead as a trademark. How do I write a trademark notice to appear in both the print and online editions of the paper?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Writing a trademark notice
Trademark notice is not mandatory.
The normal thing is to put a TM or (R), usually at the upper right or lower right of the mark, depending on whether the mark is merely applied for (TM) or actually federally registered with the US Pat & TM Office (R). You could also add a legend on the credits block where editors, publishers, etc. are listed. " ????? Masthead is a registered trademark of ??????" filling in the ????? with the appropriate names.
UofH has a law school with an excellent trademark staff, so in the future just call your law school and ask for the trademark professor, who can give you similar advice.
