Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Texas
Retention of Records when Child becomes 18 years of age
What is the required time period for records to be held by the District Attorney after a child becomes an adult, the probationary period is completed, or offenses are committed as an adult. Each search for me has resulted with the comment: As provided by law. Thanks

These records can be kept on file for an extremely long period of time. There are ways to have these records protected from disclosure, however, you would need an attorney for the process. Feel free to contact me at my Tyler office if you need any assistance.
