Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

1. I worked for a company in Houston from December 2006 - February 2009.

2. Compensation was 226,000 Base + 30 % Bonus.

3. I was terminated for cause on February 2009, which is another story, but I

do not wish to fight as I have a new job.

4. Company policy states that an employee must be employed by company at the

day of bonus payout, which is normally 75 days into new year.

5. The payout was March 15th 2009, approx., for the 2008 bonus.

6. I worked the entire year, but was terminted prior to bonus payout.

The question I have, do I have a legal right to the bonus even if company

policy says otherwise?

Please advise if I have an opportunity worth pursuing payment.

Statute of limitations are running..should be at least two years..but normally sleeping on one's rights is devastating...
