Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
I accepted a educational stipend from an employer with the intention of going to work there upon graduation. During the two years since I signed the contract, there has been a number of quesionable (illegal) business practices, the owner has resigned and returned to work, and I do not want to put myself in a position to be subjected to this work environment. If it is a workplace that could potentially put your career at risk and is very unstable, what is my duty to repay the loan? Is there any way to avoid repayment? I would not be opposed to repayment except that I do feel like I was given an opportunity to work for the employer that I signed the contract with but a completely different version of this employer. Any help would be appreciated.
