Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

On call compensation

I am on call basically every weekend. If I get called to go in, is there a minumum for employers to pay someone even if the call took only 15 minutes to take care? I sometimes do my job within 15 min to an hour depending on which place calls in an order. I have heard that if I clock in I should get paid a minumum of four hours no matter how much time it takes. Is this true? I reside in Texas.

Re: On call compensation

That is not true. You need to be paid for the time you work, but no more. You may also be entitled to pay for "on call" time, including travel time.
