Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
They changed my address
I haved recieved and have copies of all my paystubs with the correct address and that is including my W2. When they fired me I signed my termination paper work and they told me my check would be mailed to me, I have recieved one check of only 3 days of sick, they still owe me 52 hours of vacation, 5 days of work and 1 sick day. When I called my previous supervisor he said my address was wrong on the termination sheet and that now they have to wait until they recieve my check and they will resend it. Which if that was the case how did I get this check? Is what they are doing illegal? if so can I demand for the envelope that they sent it in with the post marked date?

Go to the Texas Workforce Commission office near you and file a claim under the Texas Pay Day Act. You myst do this wiuthin 180 days of when you were supposed to receive your check. Depending on why you were fired you may want to consult with an employment lawyer.
