Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Confusion

I have worked for this company for 8 years. I recently put in for a job posted by HR. A week later I received a call from department manager and she told me I got the job. The next day we discussed salary and came to an agreement. The salary change notice was sent around and signed by my current boss and by my soon to be new boss. Four days later an HR employee let it slip that I may not be getting the new job after all. The CEO was denying it. Three days after this rumor our HR manger came and talked to me telling me there were some problems and she apoligized for the leak from HR. My question is do I have a case if denied the position after I was told the job was mine and alll the paperwork was processed?
