Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
decrease in pay
I was hired for a certain job at $12. They never completed that training for that particular job because their busy season came. So I have been doing the $10 hourly job since I was hired. Now it is annual review time and they see I am not doing the job I was hired to do and they are debating to lower my pay to $10 an hour because there is now no open positions for the $12 an hour. I did in the past ask about the extra training I needed for the $12 an hour job but they were so busy with their peaks season, that the training was cancelled or never held. Is it legal for them to lower my pay to $10 when I was hired at $12 for a position they never trainned me on?

Re: decrease in pay
Yes...unless you have a written contract, the employer does not have any obligation other than starting pay. Have you looked for better paying jobs? other training??
