Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

My employer just took what I think is 2% of my starting pay, as well as everyone elses. I started out making 9.65 a hour, in feb. thats what they offered me. Now I'm making 9.46 a hour as of sept. 1st. is that legal. I mean I understood them freezing rasies, and they also took away raises from people who got them from Jan 2010 to now, but I didn't think they could take away from what you start as. because what if i would have started out at min. wage 7.25 a hour and they can't pay less than that... right?

Can they do that?

In Texas, employment is "at will." That means unless you have a written contract with your pay terms spelled out, they can change the terms anytime (as long as the pay is above the minimum).
