Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Fast Break

I work for a mental rehabilitation center. I do not smoke and I only take a 30 min. lunch while on my night shift. We recently recieved a memo that stated:you may be permitted a 5 min. break during a 4 hour period.It also states that these breaks are a privilage not a right. It also states in closing comments;There are no legal requirements in Texas for breaks.What are the legal rights concerning this delema?

Please advise,I am of the understanding that 8 Hours =2 15 min and 1-30 min.
