Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
I had to fire an employee for sexually harassing a client. I put his final pay in the mail to the address he put on his w-2, but forgot to send it certified. Now (seven days later) he says that the address I sent it to is incorrect and he has not received payment and he is suing. I will try to get this resolved ASAP but Texas Labor Laws say six days for final pay. What is my liability here? Will I be held accountable when he failed to give me his current address? I asked at the time of termination.

He's not going to sue you. He's bluffing.
Go to your bank and put in a "stop payment" on the paycheck.
Then call this guy and tell him you've cut him a new check, and he can come pick it up during business hours. When he picks it up, make him sign a receipt for it.
