Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Can they fire me for this...

I have been working for a company for that has severe staffing problems as a part time employee. Up to this point, I've been complying with their demands and ''helped out'' whenever there was a need. Since I am going to college and also run a household, it's been almost impossible to keep up with anything. However, the ''extra help'' I provided my employer with hadn't been equally distributed among other part time employees. In particular, once I again I am required to work a full day on each weekend for an indefinite time period. This is the second time this has happened to me. During my interview, before I commenced employment, I was told that I would have to work once a month all day on a weekend. If I refuse to work all day each weekend for an indefinite time period, even though no other employee that is full time or part time is required to do so, can they fire me.
