Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Fired or not?

I had planned to leave the company

in about few months and the owner

was aware of it, but after an incident

that in my opinion was a good one,

my supervisor turned around and

said that unfortunately the company

is going in a different direction and

needs my letter of resignation. This

now means that I would probably not

last the entire time I had planned.

And be without a job for a couple of

months. If I turn that letter in, will it

still be considered as fired? And would

I be eligible for unemployment

compensation?
