Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

FMLA Leave

I'm going to have surgery and will be off work for anywhere from 3-8 days. Since I have plenty of paid vacation time, I'm using that paid leave for those days. My supervisor said I have to complete an FMLA form because these days (after 3) will also be deducted from my FMLA leave time. Is this okay?
