Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

What are full time hours?

I've worked for a company for 1 yr. and 6 months, all this time thinking i was full time. Working anywhere from 35- 45 hours week. There has been a couple of weeks i worked maybe 25-26 hours. Not many. Well, i was told yesterday that i am not considered full time. I was inquireing about vacation i thought i was going to get. The general manager said that the only people who get a vacation are the ones that are full time, or a salary employee. I work more hours than the salary people. More than the gm or his asst. In the human resourses book it says at the end of the employee's first year as a full time employee. What does this all mean? Could it be because i filed a sexual harrassment case against the company and they are retaliating against me?

Re: What are full time hours?

To evaluate your situation, a lawyer is going to need to know whether you have set hours, how you are paid, size of your employer, etc. and to see the employee handbook. I think it's pretty clear, however, that if you are expected to work a 35-40 hour week, and you do so, you are not part time.
