Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Harassment/Hostile work environment - privately held company

I am currently employed within a small, privately held company. I am a sales person that reports directly to the owner/president of the company. He is verbally abusive, harassing, sends very demeaning and belittling emails, and is impossible to work for due to the way he treats his employees. We cannot report to HR as there is no HR, he is the final word. He has recently cursed me out over the phone and threatened to dock my pay over a mis-quote to a customer and threatened my job if the customer purchases off of the given quote (which is the retail price instructed to give in the first place). What can be done to stop this type of bullying/abuse?

The law does not protect you from bad, offensive management. Unfortunately, if your boss persists in this conduct, the only realistic alternative is to find a new job as it is unlikely that this conduct gives rise to any action against him or the company. You might want to discuss this with an attorney, particularly if there are 15 employees or more in your company, for possible gender discrimination/sexual harassment issues, but those don't appear to exist based on your question.
