I am a lawyer who represents individuals against the employers and insurance companies. I do not represent companies or employers. With this note that I am always on the employees side how to act is easy-act like a valuable and dedicated employee. To put it differenlty act is if your mother was your boss and she was watching you like a hawk. I do not know if it is legal. But unless the employer uses video footage as a reason to discipline an employee who cares? If the cameras make you personally uncomfortable tell your union rep (if you have one). If not schedule a brief meeting with your boss and express your concerns to your boss. Obtain assurances from your boss there are no cameras in private areas-your restrooms, the employee break areas (absent a good reason). I go to Federal courthouses and each Judge has a highly visible camera outside their interior front door. I assume there are other cameras (hidden and not hidden) and I act appropriately.

Unless you are the union rep, if your co-workers are concenred they need to approach the boss themselves in a professional manner.

Yes; some businesses do so without informing employees and, with some limitations, this is also lawful.
