Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I was hired by a local company, then three days later the asst. mgr., came in & told me that I (along with others) were being let go because the regional mgr jumped the gun in hiring me/us because the store mgr was losing too much business & they couldn't afford to keep everybody. Approx., a week later this same store mgr was let go by the regional mgr. The asst mgr told me to call the regional mgr because I had done a good job & they would try to put me in another store. Since then my calls are being avoided & they're are telling the State several different lies about why I was let go & this is in turn making it so the State unemployment dept is deciding if I can keep my unemployment. I have a family to take care of & would like to know what my options are about this or if I can do anything about it.

Contest the denial of your unemployment benefits, and demand a hearing. They do the hearing by telephone.
