Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
hostile environment
I work in an extremely hostile environment where the admin assist is abusive and disrupts productivity. I have contacted human resources, they were to come to the office to asses the situation. Now they are not making the office visit and there will be no remedy to the hostility. Can I sue the company if I am forced to resign?

Re: hostile environment
Unfortunately, unless the abuse is directed at you because you fall in a recognized discriminatory classification--gender, race, etc.--it is unlikely that you would have any recourse. The conduct would have to be so extreme and outrageous that it would be shocking to a judge or jury, or involve physical assault. Nevertheless, if you believe you have a possible claim, I recommend you contact a lawyer to explore this with more specificity.
