Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Inapropriate conversation
I was interviewing for a job with a company that works as a distributor for my company. The person interviewing me used to work for my company. He asked my boss about my performance, and my boss told him my performance wasn't very good. My boss told him that I wouldn't be successful due to my performance. I reported this encounter with my HR dept. the next day. Then the day after that I was terminated. Now because of the claim by my boss I may not get the other job. In my exit interview I brought this subject matter up to the VP of the company and he blew it off. Is this legal?
