layed off

i was a manager, i was layedoff. I was the only one, and two weeks later they hired someone in my place. i have work for the company for 8 years. Can they do this? I live in Texas

Yes they can...how old are you? discriminaion is forbidden for age, race, sex, etc...is the new person being paid less than you??..call if you wish to discuss..
