Re: May I Ask For A Layoff?

Texas employment law is "at-will." This generally means that employment is at the will of the employer or at the will of the employee. Therefore, the employer can do things to benefit the company and may hinder you without you having any recourse. If you ask for a "lay off," that may be a permant lay off. This might not be the best avenue to choose in your case. If my law firm can assist you with this legal matter or any other legal issue, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).

You have no legal right to determine your work hours...conditions in geneeral....if you ask for layoff, it may be permanent...so you need to look for other employment it seems to me..this isnot a legal question
