Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

We live in Houston. My husband has signed a non compete agreement withaleasing company 2 years back for a 1800/monthly pay. Now he got another job in other leasing company for 2,700 as supervisor. His present employer has sent him a attorney notice asking for negotiating with them. When personally met he was told that we will be sued for upto30000 dollars. which is not even a years salary. How should we deal with this notice?

We lost our peace of mind since 3 weeks...........Please help.

I presume he is working for the new leasing company? If you email me or fax me a copy of his "non compete" agreement AND a copy of the attorney notice, I could advise you...my phone is 972 298 4641/ fax 972 2981028...there is no simple answer..
