Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

No Overtime for Hotel workers?

Hi. I Live in Texas and have a question. I have worked at a Hotel for about 8 months. I work at the front desk. I get $6 an hr. no matter what. Even if I have to work more then 40 hrs a week, I only get paid $6 an hr. basically, Even if i work 90 hours in 2 weeks, i only get paid $6 an hour for all 90 hours. Is this right? Or should I be getting 1 1/2. Also, should I let it build up, and then file for my Over Time, or is there a penility. thanx

You are entitled to overtime. You are in a strong position to file for that overtime while you work there or immediately after you leave, but you will need records to show the actual time worked. It may be that this company is doing this to other workers, in which case there could be help for others as well. You might wish to seek legal advice on how to pursue this.
