Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
different pay for same work
Can an employer pay me $5.60 for 6 months and pay
the new people i train $6.00 starting out, and some of
them work the same shift? And i still am getting $5.60
an hr, and the manager sent the message to the
company about my raise like 3 months ago, but nothing
happened. I just quit the other day, because i lost like at
least 10 hours a week and i never got my raise or
anything. Also, another reason, i was having to do
some of the other shifts work, when they are getting
paid more then me, and they dont even work by
theirselves like i do. Please respond asap so i can get
this taken care us, and thank you.

Re: different pay for same work
Yes, unless the reason for the company paying you less than the new employees you trained was based on a protected category such as race, national origin, religion, age, or disability.
