Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Quarterly Bonus

I recently left my job at the end of September. While I was employed, I received a quarterly bonus. The bonuses were paid a month after every quarter. My former employer is refusing to pay me my bonus from last quarter because I was not employed when they paid the bonuses this month, although iIwas employed until the end of the quarter that the bonus was paid for. is this legal?
