Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Question
I believe that I may have been let go unfairly. I recently(Oct.) got a new boss. Everything was great until I noticed that some of my perks were taken away from me. They started with my internet access, then went to my ability to do payroll functions. It got so bad that I was literally doing nothing for 7 hours of my 8 hour work day. My boss was sick for a week and was not answering emails or phone calls. When he did return he called me into his office and told me that there was one day a few weeks ago that I did not clock out for lunch. This one day resulted in my being terminated. I think they were looking for something to let me go on. I felt it coming because of all the things that had happened. Also, I was the only one that was let go and everyone else was allowed to stay. I have sense found another job but it still rubs me the wrong way. Can I file anything against them for doing this to me?

Re: Question
Texas and most of the USA permits employers to let employees go without cause at any time...hence..unless you were discriminated against for sex, race, religion, national origin and a host of similar reasons..just be thankful you are away from that job and do not expect to benefit from it..
