Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Recently, as a condition of continued employment ( I work for a large city with 5000+ employees), I was required to attend a GLBT Awareness training course. I am a Christian and DO NOT believe in that lifestyle choice. The instructor explicitly stated at the onset that religious beliefs would not be allowed to be discussed for the duration of the class. Did my employer violate my Title VII and First Amendment rights by requiring me to attend and not allowing me freedom of speech in the training course?

No.
Conceivably, you could have challenged them (that is, challenged their silly rule about "no religion") at the seminar by raising your hand and stating your views. My guess is that there would not have been any consequences to you.
