Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Recently (3 Months ago) my manager hired a person to train for the close schedule (I have always worked the opening schedule). After nearly three months of not getting the training the new person turned in her resignation. Evidently she blamed me and the other receptionist for being mean to her and that she just didn't get the job. The manager made a major change to the schedule having me work the close schedule. When I spoke with her about it explaining that I have a kid in school and I work a second job to make ends meet and could not work that schedule her response was "Neither can I. She was not receptive to any suggestions I had to work something out. I was then forced to give my two weeks resignation. I just found out that the lady who is the new employee approached the manager and requested my schedule and she would stay! Rumor has it that the manager accepted. I feel that I am being forced out of a job I love. Do I have a case?

Unless you had a contract..NO...but if the job merits it, ie, you can't equal the pay or conditions, you should report your dissatisfaction to the employer..as they may be affected adversely by the change...it is not a legal matter but a policy matter
