Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Rights afters after Terminations
I voluntary left employment after being demoted. Now I'm getting e-mails asking that I assit with questions during an internal audit. They are even stating acctg errors and possible fraud yet they will not tell me the errors nor the fact that I pointed out the controller signed my reconciliations without questions. I challenged the fraud and they back tracked saying that they were not accusing anyone just the potential. I think it was trying to intimidate me. What can I do? I left to get away from this abuse and move on yet they will not leave me alone.

Re: Rights afters after Terminations
Well, they cannot force you to come and cooperate with their investigation. But you risk a chance of being sued for any allegations that they may throw at you. You should not communicate with them or assist in thier investigation alone i.e. should have an attorney do it for you. That way you have a buffer between the two of you, and you can respond to thier claims and allegations after thinking through them with your atty.
