Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Salary & personal and vacation accumulation

My husband has friends and they work at the same company. The company, due to the economic time & hardship(s) is cutting the salaried employees wages for a second time is this legal? I also wanted to know is it legal for this same company to not pay for your personal time that one has accumulated/vacation time earned?

When a company has to cut..they can fire or reduce salaries...unless you had contract and even contracts are not helpful if company is going broke..
